[blparent] poop question?

Hi:

It's amazing how much I stressed over changing a diaper before my son was
born. Don't know why, but I guess I was concerned that  I would not be able
to do it right.  Now it's a piece of cake. My first time changing him, he
had poop.  I did fine even though I was nervous.  He was still hooked to
wires, so it made things more tricky. Don't skimp on wipes. I usually use an
extra wipe just to be sure I got it all. Leslie's description of how the
poop feels is accurate. Sometimes, you'll get your hand dirty, no big deal.
Just use a wipe to clean and move on to finish cleaning the poop.  Oh, and
sighted people sometimes get their hand dirty too.

Congratulations on finally going home.

Hi Mike.  If it's a very messy diaper, I use a wash cloth on his bottom.  I
use my hands to make sure I got all the poop off.  The poop feels thicker
and kind of slippery when it's on his bottom.  When it's clean, the
sliperyness goes away.  I don't know if that makes sense but it's the best
way I can think of to describe it.  If I'm using wipes, I may use 4 or 5 of
them in one session.  You'll get the hang of it in no time.

I'm writing this whilst sitting here when nicholas is doing his "Car seat
test", having to sit in his car seat for 90 minutes and watching that he can
breeth well. Anyways i'm going to likely be the one changing him tonight by
my self and i was curious, how do you all know that you got all the poop off
the bottom?
