[blparent] A quick guide dog question

Hi Sharon:

Oh, so do I, lol. I got a couple of dogs from there years ago, and it
wasn't a great situation. However, the dogs I saw coming out of there that
were really good and solid were their Goldens, Dobes and Poodles. Having
said that, all three are donated breeds, and are not bred at Pilot, lol. As
I have travelled around to different programs for my guides, I'd be more
than happy to talk with anyone considering a guide about my experiences. I
must also say, however, that each individual's experience can be as unique
as they are, and depends on so many things, like specific needs, situation,
what you're looking for from a school, etc. All in all, I do believe that
most of the schools are out there working hard to ensure that we receive a
well-trained working guide that matches our needs and situation. There are
definitely differences among the schools, and depending on what's important
to you, it can help to know about those differences. Just rambling here,
but if anyone wants to contact me off list I'd be happy to share my own
experiences. Have a great evening everyone.

Joy and family

You are right, Joy; Guiding Eyes doesn't do poodles. Pilot does, but I don't

think they do home training and I have some concerns about them. Just my
opinion.
