[blparent] thermometers

Hi,
Nope, they still do not recommend ear or anal thermometers.
Wal-Mart sells a talking forehead one that I posted to this list a while
back, if someone still has that info, they can post it.
IMO the only reason to have a thermometer is to let the doctor know the
exact temp if they are sick, and the doc wants to know. I have no trouble
telling if my kid is running a fever, and I am guessing most parents are
that way.

I've heard they don't recommend using an ear thermometer when a baby is less
than a year old. You may want to check on this though; I heard it when my
son was born, and he's now three. I've heard very good things about
forehead thermometers, but they aren't accurate sometimes either... I guess
nothing is perfect.

Hi,

there are a couple of good thermometers, one is an oral rectal under the arm

one, and the other one is an ear/forehead thermometer. You can buy both
from www.speaktomecatalog.com I prefer the ear thermometer because it only
takes a second to take a tempreture and therefore doesn't require holding on
or in difficult parts of

a sick and cranky baby.
