[blparent] Question

I believe in time outs as well, but some things warrant a little more
harshness. Like if your child opened the latch and went to the street.
Then what? I'm not saying to harm him, but a smack on the diaper and say,
no quite harshly is a good way of getting the message across.. You are the
parent not your child. Once that is established, things run smoother. Your
child is bright, no doubt, but maybe too bright for his age. Make sure he
knows that all things are not okay. Some actions deserve sitting in the
naughty chair, some actions deserve something else. V

I don't believe in spanking until the child is 4, I believe in a time out
age appropriate to his age, 1 min for 1 year 2 for 2 years etc.
We spanked once, and he only picked up from that "If u don't like, u hit."
So, I don't believe in being strick, it doesn't solv anything ... really!
We punish him as needed!!!!!!

o this is hard, but if he is smart enough to open those things then he is
smart enough learn not to do those things. I tend to be strict and nothing
in my home but chemicals are put up and my nephew is learning to leave
things alone. we do spank not for every thing but directly disobeying will
get you a spank. So I would tteach put that back or get spank and you will
see half your problems gone. Bran
