My friend's little boy, just a tiny bit older now, learned when mom said no writing on the wall meant you will be sent to your room and no playing with toys.  I don't think your room is the bad spot, but that wasn't my child.  Her child learned quickly and he will be 3 in 2 weeks and is very responsible with his crayons and papers. V

I don't think it's about taking away his ability to be creative, but having him be creative while still being responsible and learning responsibility and respect.
I agree with Brandy that you should only let him draw/color with supervision.

We have a art table in his room, crayons, coloring books, stickers, and  I will not take away from his ability to be creatie.
I don't believe in punishing for everything he does, he learns b by being creative.
Nomatter how smart a he is, he's a toddler, and still does toddler things .. so, why punish him for being a child?

I would make sure crayons and things are out of reach unless you are monitoring him. I would clean it up together and since he seems so smart tell him that if he writes on things not for writing again blank will happen. Bran
