[blparent] latching on?

try straws. elise will have nothing to do with traditional sippy cups (with
the spouts). she only wants to drink from straw cups. I think it's because
she sees jason and I do it all the time and wants to do what we do...it took
awhile to convince her to do that, though. I started with very high value
things, like juice and chocolate milk. I'm talking like an ounce at the
bottom of the cup. I also started her by letting her drink from my straw
cups when she showed interest. I would obviously have to hold the cup and
straw with her, but the first time she ever drank from a straw was when I
was drinking fresh squeezed orange juice, and she wanted my cup. I knew she
loved oranges, so I let her suck a bit out of it, and suddenly straws became
the best thing ever. she is now starting to drink her milk from straw cups,
too.
