[blparent] Carseats for children 1 year-old or older?

That is a really great point!  Austin very rarely rides in a stroller
anymore and he's only 3.  Of course, often we have the Sit 'n' stroll with
us because we needed it in order to get him where we were going.  It's not
so bad when my husband is along; one can pull the stroller and the other can
hold onto Austin's hand.  But, when either of us are by ourselves it's a
little more tricky.  Also, if you want any other children in the future will
you really want to buy another large travel system, or would you be more
comfortable using the equipment you all ready have?  I have a Greco car seat
that fits onto our stroller that Austin used for the first 6 months or so.
Some babies could use this seat for longer, but Austin grew tall very
quickly so we got the sit 'N' Stroll.  With our new baby coming, I am very
glad we have this infant seat as an option at the beginning.  I am hopeful
Austin will be ready for a booster by the time the baby is ready for the Sit
'N' Stroll.  Of course, this may not be the case, so we'll have to figure
out what to do with that reality if the time comes.  But, needless to say,
there will be no way I will be able to travel easily by myself with two
things to wheel.  It will even be very tricky to manage with one infant seat
that I can carry and the sit 'N' Stroll.  So, I will be looking very forward
to the day when Austin is big enough for a booster seat I can carry on my
back.  It will make things a lot easier.  Until then, I guess I'll just be
taking more buses!  Smile.
Just some thoughts; there really is no right or wrong answer; you need to do
what works for you as long as your child is safe.

Okay, I know you're trying to think ahead and that's great!  But here's a 
thought!  You have a four year old that wants to walk by himself and doesn't

want to sit in the stroller.  Is it really going to be practical for you to 
wheel around a big stroller type device, all the kid's stuff and the kid? 
Or might it be more practical for you to buy a separate booster seat when 
the time comes, maybe one that folds up or can fit in a backpack so you 
don't have to wheel anything around with you.  That way you'll have both 
hands free to deal with your child.
