[blparent] potty training

Hi,

We used training pants instead of underwear. There cotton and like
underwear but they're thick and contain the mess better. They also give
them a sense of being in real pants, complete with the ability to pull them
up and down by themselves. Also, timed training worked well for us. We
tried to figure out how long Colyn could go without having an accident, and
we put him on the potty about 5 minutes before that time so we were sure
he'd need to go. When he went in the potty and nhot in his pants, we made a
huge deal out of it, and we told him what a good big boy he was and how
proud we were of him, and all that kinda stuff. We started with about 30
minutes and then when he was reliably going whenever we put him on, we added
ten minutes to the time. We kept doing this until eventually he just went
when he felt he had to go, and we haven't had an accident since I can't
remember when. Now pooping, that's a whole other story. It took a bit
longer for that, but eventually he got that too. Potty training is a long
and very anxiety filled process. Get some good pro-solve for your carpets.
they sell it in both powder and liquid, and it works great. I don't know if
it works for furnature though, but I bet there's something out there that's
just as good for that.

Hope this helps, and good luck,

Tammy
