[blparent] question of napping

Did your pediatrician tell you to wake him when he was sleeping? When Gab
was a baby she'd sleep for several hours at a time and I asked her Dr if I
should wake her up to feed. He told me to let her sleep and she'd wake when
hungry. So that is what I'd do. Even at 8 weeks she'd sleep for 5 or 6
hours at a time and wake up starving. Of course, I could not wait to feed
her, my milk would start dripping so I had to pump a little. V

Owen is eight weeks and he also has a fussy time between 4:00-10, just
depending on the day. I tried putting him to bed at 7 tonight to see what
happened. Before I kept him up until like 9:00 trying to rock him and hold
him etc but he'd fight sleep for hours. He has been sleeping since 7:-00
and I'll wake him up for a feeding maybe around 10:00, wish me luck. He
doesn't have much of a nap schedule yet. I think when babies are so little
like this they don't really get into a nap schedule. Just keep in mind that
they get tired after being up 1-2 hours. Watch for their cues like yawning,
rubbing eyes etch and when you see that happen put them down or start
rocking them to sleep, whatever works for you. I think they'll get into a
good reliable nap routine around 4 months.

That's true. I'd forgotten about the fussy during a certain part of the day
part. If that haens, remember, you don't have a bad baby. Babies aren't
bad. They don't have that ability.
