[blparent] question of feeding a newborn

A friend of mine tried to do just that, pump and feed with the bottle and it
failed, the milk just quit coming. Her Dr. said it was because she was not
drinking the water and fluids needed to have the milk continue. Maybe yes
maybe no. V

Has anyone on the list been able to pump without actually breastfeeding, and

feed baby all breastmilk without supplementing formula? A breast pump
definitely doesn't pull out as much as a baby does while suckling. It seems

to me that the supply wouldn't be kept up as well. I think that was the
point. I know a lot of moms who pump while working, but breastfeed at home,

so it is possible, I think it just takes perseverance and patience to get
there.
