[blparent] need urgent help

Hi,

If it were against the law they wouldn't have taken the baby, and they
obviously have, so they obviously have their reasons however misguided.
This whole thing doesn't sound right to me, like somebody's not being told
everything. It doesn't make sense for a nurse to call cps just because the
baby was having trouble breathing or having trouble breast feeding. Most
nurses go in to super support mode if a mother's having trouble, and
definitely if a baby is. They're there to help parents, and unless she saw
something wrong like the mother having trouble coping, or if the parents
were perceived to be aggressive toward the baby, the hospital staff, or the
social workers as is often the case when blind people are questioned about
their abilities, she wouldn't have a reason to even call a social worker. I
know that most hospitals have a social worker on staf who talks to every new
mother before they are released from the hospital, just to make sure they
have proper supports in place when they go home, and they can go to cps and
the hospital and recommend the child be placed in a foster home until the
parents are checked out. but something isn't right here. The parents
should seek legal advice right now! If they wait they'll be asked why
they've delayed getting legal help and the case could very well go against
them because they'll be perceived not to care whether the child is with them
or not.

I hope they get the help they need, and are able to get their baby back.

Tammy
