Yeah, I've added cereal to the fruit but to the vegies, yuck, lol!

You might consider thickening the baby food, if it is fruit or veggie puree,
with a dab of baby rice cereal.  That will make it stay on the spoon better.
There's also a special spoon that has a bulb you squeeze to get food out.
It's from Boon, I thinki.
