Yeah, I did do some searching around. Amazon was sold out of the infa
feeders. Walmart had the spoons but not the feeders. Can't remember where
else I looked but eventually I came to the babyearth.com and they had them
both and some other neat stuff so I just stopped there. But you're right
cheaper is always good but had no luck yesterday finding cheaper!!

O that is a good sight, but not the site to buy most of it. The boon spoon
and feeder can be found on Amazon much cheaper, and on diapers.com, and a
few others. For example I bought the kiddopotamus bib for 5.99, but on that
sight it is around $10. Shop around including ebay for the best deals! Bran

In case anyone else on this list is curious ... there is a website called
babyearth.com and I found the boon squirt spoons on there, also the infa
feeders, and some other really neat stuff!! Some of it is pretty expensive
but other things on there weren't too bad.

Hi V. Actually, Sharon Howerton was the one who recommended the infant
feeder to me and her sons are in their 20's. The problem is that infant
feeders are harder to find. You can't just get them at Walmart or Target.
However, you still can get them online.

Hi V and all. What I finally figured out is to do the following with the
spoon: First, I stand facing Michael and put the high chair at the highest
point. This way, I don't have to strain my back. Of course, one can sit
down if they feel more comfortable. Second. I scoop with my right hand and
feel with my left to make sure I got enough food on the spoon. Third, I use
both hands at the same time to guide the spoon to his mouth. So my left
index finger is resting against the edge of the bowl of the spoon where the
food is. Fourth, I try to get my left index finger and the spoon to his
mouth at roughly the same time so he's not getting confused with a finger
going in the mouth first and then the spoon. Michael's at the point now
where I can tell him open and he'll open his mouth. Another option that
works well, although not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics,
is an infant feeder. Since my husband is sighted, Michael gets enough
chances with having sighted people feed him and learn how to get food off
the spoon. For me, the infant feeder is quick and all the food goes in him
and not on him. There's a little disk you push to the bottom before you put
the food in the feeder. You put the food into the feeder and put on the
nipple. The disk moves up as the baby sucks and when the disk is at the top
and the baby sounds like he's sucking air, he's done. You can order an
infant feeder at www.amazon.com If anyone's interested in finding out more
info about the infant feeder, please write me off list and I'll be happy to
give you the details. Hth Leslie.

I also put more on gab's chin than in her mouth, but what I did was scoop
with a tiny spoon, then with a finger or even the other hand, find her
mouth. Sometimes it went in and sometimes it didn't.
I hear, but haven't actually seen them, have tubes of baby food that you can
just squeeze directly into the mouth. I know Toys R. Us has them. I guess
they look kind of like a tube of toothpaste. V

I asked this question on another list but thought I’d ask again on here.
Always good to get different opinions. How did you feed your babies baby
food? My son is almost six months old and we started feeding him baby food
about a month ago. I think I get more of it on his face and clothes then I
do in his mouth, lol. Any suggestions?? I should have expert answers on
how to do this as my two older kids were fed and survived but I think with
them I got more everywhere too. Any thoughts would be helpful!!

Peggy
