Subject: [blparent] update on Clay and the kids

Hi list.

I had a moment and wanted to update you all on Clay and the kids.

For those who are new to the list my husband Clay suffered a
hemorrhagic stroke last December and has been slowly recovering ever
since.

Clay is home and has made improvement in areas having to do with
routines he remembers from the past. His short-term memory is still
not good, and I some times question how much of what is going on now
he is aware of. When this first happened I was told things would be
better six months down the road. Now I have been told that a final
estimation of reganable cognitive function can’t be assess until after
18 to 24 months. I think this might be code for having no idea what
is going on, but I’m not a Doctor so who knows. He is still not
working and we have had issues with debt though it is being resolved
as quickly as can be expected.

Ash is eight and is in second grade. Because of having to work I
decided to keep her in the public school system till middle school and
see how the situation is at that time. She has decided to fallow her
cousin’s foot steps and join the perfetional cheer team in our county.
So we’ll see how it goes. Because of all that happened this last
year she put dance and baton on hold for the year. She is enjoying
spending time with friends and is becoming quite grone up.

Tiffany is 21 months now and is running, jumping, and climbing all the
time. She is talking more and more each day.

And as for me, I am running in all directions. I went from working
three days a week to five to keep things going, and since there is no
guarantee Clay will return to work I am planning to take on more hours
after the new year.

But on a positive note we still have the house and the important bills are
paid.

So if I don’t have time to write later I will wish you all a happy
holiday now rather then later.

Cheers.
Kate
