Thanks so much!  You are exactly right on the time issue.  I have Olivia on
my lap as I type, she is the 2month old.  I will definitely check the sites

Hey Jill,
	  I don't mean to hijack your questions.. but I wanted to respond to
your question about baby carriers.

I also have a dog guide... she is a seven year old black lab from the seeing
eye, and does  really well with my four month old daughter. As soon as we
got home from the hospital my dog, Greer, seemed to get that my daughter was
now part of the  family, and has been  watching out for her ever since.

 On the carrier front, I happen to live in Brooklyn where  baby wearing is
very  big. it just makes it easier to carry your child when you are going up
and down curbs all the time, and when going  on the subway... so having been
really  lucky in the hand me down, and  stoop sale category, we now have no
fewer then seven different carriers. They range from internal frame back
packs, which are really best for hiking and camping... to a hot sling which
is just a circle of fabric which you wear miss America style across your
body, and then put the child in the resulting pouch.
Of all of our carriers I have found that our Moby wrap is my favorite. It is
just a long piece of fabric that you wrap around your body, and put your
child in either facing you, facing out,  on your hip, or on your back. It is
really versatile, very secure, can be used for children up to 40 to 50
pounds I think, and leaves my hands free to direct my dog. 

I have also really liked our Ergo, and our baby bjorn.... although the bjorn
is not as good for the baby's spine, as it suspends the baby from his or her
crotch instead of holding him or her up by their thighs, as the Ergo does.
Also the bjowrn is less comfortable, and really only for littler babies, but
it does let my daughter face out,  and it is really convenient.

 Anyway, with three children I am guessing that you don't have tons of time
to be trolling around the internet, but a quick Google search turned up
these links  in case you are interested.

I have a 2 month old daughter, and 2 boys 5 and 13.  I have a guide dog that
is 2 and they all get along fine.  I am interested in learning more about
the carrier you mentioned, so I can take my baby along for walks.  Could you

home mother.  I have just resigned from social security as a service rep.  I
also worked before that with vocational rehab as a rehab teacher.  I am
married to some one who also has a vision problem.  I am down to pretty much
light perception, where my husband has pretty good functional vision.

Hi, Tara and list.

I'm a guide dog user and mom. y baby daughter Abigail, who's eleven
months old, and my black Lab guide dog Nitra, who's three years old,
get along very well. It's so important to give the dog time and
attention in the midst of a busy day. I work full-time and generally
find my work and family life to be really busy. But I do love taking
walks with my baby in a carrier (there are several that are very good)
and when I can find time, I like doing a walk with just myself and the
dog just so she can relax and know I still encourage her. My dog
inevitably plays second fiddle to my daughter, but it can be a good
balancing act and a lot of fun.
