I think that is a hard one for all moms especially if the children are messy
little boys.  I tend to ask my older son (13) now if his little brother (5)
is messing around at the table.  When my oldest was small, I did a lot of
touching his hands and face to see what he was into.  I remember when he
started to learn to feed himself.  I put an old bed sheet down in the floor
and put his high chair on it and let him go!  That way the clean up was
easy.  As far as twisting around and that sort of stuff, I just had to catch
him by listening and correct him.
