Nikki. One suggestion. Find a way to have Mackenzi physically off the
premises during the moving, both out and in. You kiddos are smart and
probably already know this, but moving is dangerous, and moving + toddlers
is a recipe for disaster.

Subject: [blparent] moving

Hi everyone! Thought maybe someone would be able to help, I've been reading,
but I'm still looking for suggestions.
Kevin, Mackenzie, and I are moving to toledo which is about 4 ahours away
from cincinnati where we currently live. He has accepted a new job, which
will be a great opportunity, but I'm wondering how to explain this to
Mackenzie. We have told her she is going to a new home and a new adventure.
I said she could choose where her crib is going to go, and her toys. She is
also going to help me set up her play room!
Obviously, we will have to take Mackenzie out of pre school. I will be
looking for a new job when we get there, hopefully I will find something in
social services. Until I do though, her and I will be home together. We
are starting to plan out a schedule of activities for her and I to do
together during the day that will be fun and educational. She seems to have
an amazing talent for art, and she loves to read! So we will find things to
do! Just wondering if any of you have any experiences with this, and ways to
help make the adjustment for the child easier. She will also be 4 hours
away from my dad, and the two of them have a special connection!
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Nikki
