[blparent] Storing baby bathtub conveniently?

When we would go to my mother's house, she didn't have a baby tub, so we
would line the bottom of the tub with bath towels and then set Gab in with a
bit of warm water. It also worked, but then we had to deal with wet heavy
towels. V

Exactly why we do not use one, they get in the way, and are a bigger problem
than they are worth. I know this does not answer your question, but this is
what we do.
Bathe in the kitchen sink: works better when the baby can sit up on their
own, still do this with my 2 year old if she needs a quick bath.
Bathe in the bathroom sink: it has sloped sides, so we just line the sink
with a towel and set the baby on the towel and bathe away.
Lay a folded towel on the bottom of the tub and bathe the baby there. Tub
bottoms are sloped some, so point the baby's feet towards the drain. Might
not be good if your baby is prone to ear infections, because the baby is not
sitting up as much as in a baby bath tub, so water gets in the ears more.
This is the favorite of my 4 month old, she could kick and splash for hours
if I let her.
Take the baby in the shower with you. The baby does get a little slippery,
so more care is needed. This was the favorite of our 4 year old.

Hi,
Ok, our bathroom and kitchen cubbards aren't big enough to hold our baby
bathtub... Darn it!
At this point, my only (be it inconvenient) option is to put it in the
nursery closet. This is all the way across the house and upstairs. Yes, I
said it's inconvenient... ;-) Obviously, I'll do this if I need to, but I
thought I'd come to you for ideas.
We don't have a hall closet on the first floor either.
Thanks for all your help. You are all so wonderful!

In Christ, Miranda
