Hi V. I mix the cereal with formula and won't start adding in anything yet
for a few more days.

When we started with the cereal, I'd mix it with breast milk. My friends
who didn't breast feed used formula. You can't just add in fruits and other
foods until you've tried them to make sure he's not allergic. Leslie, you
know what kind of milk he drinks, use it to thin out the cereal till you
know a bit is still on the spoon. You don't need a lot at first, just
starting out and all. V

I agree. Austin did not like rice cereal by itself at all. Our
pediatrician recommended we mix the cereal with baby food. She wanted him
to have the cereal for the first year because it's another source of
calcium. I can't remember how much she recommended he have each day, but I
would measure it out and mix it into his baby food. This worked really well
and also helped to thicken the food a bit which made it a little easier to
feed to Austin.
Hope this helps.

He may not like rice sereal. My daughter didn't. You can also get oat sereal

and combos of different grains. Perhaps trying a different flavor, or mixing

something in, like a very small amount of pear or apple sauce. That stuff
tastes pretty bland.
