[blparent] blparent Digest, Vol 80, Issue 11

Hi,

But it's not and I don't think it could ever be accessible to a blind child. It's all graphic, and all hand writing, and child's sloppy hand-writing at that, and there isn't an ocr package that can scan or understand handwriting. I'm sorry, but somethings by their vary nature are not able to be made accessible. I'd sure rather see smartboards made accessible then cars, I'd sure feel a lot safer, but it isn't going to happen.

Tammy

But it should be accessible in one way or another. Like when the info pops
up, there should be a way for a totally blind child to hear what is there.

How is this any more of a challenge for a blind student in a mainstream
classroom than a regular chalk blackboard?
