A slate and stylus or a Braillewriter.
A deck of cards or some other game that's Braille.
Barbara

Through the sunny fields of yesterday
Echo voices of children now grown,
Their golden peals of laughter
Ring upon the ivied stone.

Finally tomorrow I get to demonstrate my stuff in gab's class. I have
wanted to give them a blindness presentation since the beginning of the
year, but the schools now have new rules. First you have to be certified to
be at the school. This means I had to get my picture taken and they had to
do a background check. Yeah, I passed and am ready to go. Then I had to
wait for the winter break to be done and then I had to wait for the classes
to get back in the swing.
Finally it is my turn. Now I can't find my bag. Sheesh!
I packed a print-braille book, a measuring tape, a spice bottle that is
labeled in Braille, my talking kitchen timer, some colonel books to hand
out, some braille cards for all the kids, a measuring cup and some blocks
that Gab used when she was just learning.
I will also take my cell phone and let them listen to the address book but
they may not touch it.
I usually take my Braille 'n Speak, but it quit talking a few days ago and
will not come back to life.
I will tell them about my computer, the buttons on my stove and microwave
and how I tell what clothes I am wearing. Shoes with ties is a must, as
they always want to know if I can tie my own shoes.
I will tell them how I identify my shampoo and conditioner and I will take
my make-up that I have marked so I can tell which is eye shadow and which is
blush. (girls like this)
I will also take a cookbook in Braille and tell them about all the
wonderful things I can make.
Am I missing anything. v
