[blparent] Starting Solids Tips?

Hello,

Congratulations! This is an exciting moment in your babies development. I
recommend Earth's Best rice cereal to start out since it's one of the purest
cereals out there and not full of a lot of junk like a lot of brands. You
can find this at Wal-Mart, Target, Baby's R Us, etc. I'm sure your
pediatrician already told you this but you'll want to mix the rice cereal
with breast milk or formula and make it a soupy consistency at first until
your baby gets the hang of it. When it comes to the supplies to get I
recommend a spoon that you're comfortable with when it comes to the grip and
amount the spoon scoops. This is a personal choice but the infant rubber
tip spoons are something you'll want to start to protect baby's mouth and
gums. The plastic type bibs are great for ease of washing right after
baby's eaten and get the kind with the catcher on the bottom so that any
food that drips down can be caught in the bib and not drip down onto baby.
When your baby gets older he or she will be able and crab the bib and
possibly flip the food onto them, but these bibs are great over-all for
trying to prevent messes.

Hope this helps and have fun.

Subject: [blparent] Starting Solids Tips?

Hello:
I got the go ahead at Noah's pediatrician to start cereal once a day.
I wanted to know if any of you had any tips for this exciting moment.
What types of items should I purchase to make this situation less messy?
Any other help is appreciated.
