[blparent] measuring liquids for bottles

Another thing to try is to use those 2 ounce bottles from the hospital.
Mine had tactile markings but I knew that the top was roughly 2.5 ounces.
So to fill a 4 ounce bottle, I'd just fill up the 2 ounce bottle twice and
voila! There were my 5 ounces. Hth

This was our methodology too. Worked very well.

Another thing you might want to try, it's a pain to make it because counting
scoops gets tiring, but we always made up our formula ahead of time, then we
could just pour a bottle, warm it up, and go. Or pour a bottle, stuff it in
the bag and head out. We made ours a quart at a time and it was like 16
scoops of formula and four cups of water. I don't think the formula
disolves as easily as it used to when my other two were little so we bought
one of those stir pitchers, and it worked well. They sell those pitchers at
Walmart so don't be fooled by buying them online they're more expensive and
I don't think they are made as well.

What bottles do you use? I'm using Dr. Brown and I haven't stuck my fingers
inside the bottles because I usually and pouring a half cup of water into
the bottle and am making sure I'm getting the water in the bottle. Measuring
the powder isn't the issue. For me it is measuring out a 5 ounce bottle or a
six ounce.

Erik was chowing down on five ounces for a while and that isn't easily
measured out by a half cup and a fourth of a cup. Anyways, I'm interested to
know about feelable lines from within the bottle. Can you really stick your
fingers in there and get a good idea?
