[blparent] child smiling

Her baby cried at night because of recurring ear infections, thus the tubes
in the ears. The ear infections also delayed talking, and since Rebecca had
read the study that said children of blind parents talked sooner than other
children, she felt bad that her daughter didn't.

unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into
advance."--Franklin D. Roosevelt
