[blparent] Spoon feeding infants

Hello my name is Crystal. I don't know if any of u have heard of this I am not sure what it is called but I have this rubber jar that u dump the baby food in and it has a spoon that 
Screws on. U then squeeze and food comes out on the spoon. Then u can feed it to the baby. Hope this helps not sure what this is called a friend picked it up for me. They also have baby foods that come in squeezeable pouches like a high see juice box that comes with a spoon that  u screw on and when u squeeze the pouch it comes out on the spoon and u can feed it to the baby that way. Hi,

I agree with this.  Eventually you’ll have to use a spoon anyway, so if you can deal with the mess, I think it’s the best option.  The mesh feeders and the boon spoon are just things that help you feed, and make less mess, but they’re only good for a little while, and you’ll have to transition to a regular spoon.  If you think the mess of you feeding your baby is bad, wait until they start feeding themselves!  You don’t know grose until you’ve stepped in cold gerber peas and carrots on the carpet in the living room when the high chair is way over in the kitchen!

Actually when you feed them through the mesh feeders they mash and suck and 
the food does come out and they eat it.  I have used them with my son.  I 
tried the (boon spoon) mentioned in another e-mail and those work okay. 
There are also bottles that when you push the bottom up the food comes out 
on a spoon, those work okay too.  But the best thing I've found is to just 
use a spoon and deal with the mess.  The baby will get better about eating 
and the mess will get better too.

That is a device for teething, not for feeding. It is purposely designed to
be difficult for your child to have difficulty actually getting the food out
of it. This doesn't strike me as the most nutritional thing to be doing,
because I doubt the child is really getting much out of it other than the
taste.
