You're probably right, instead of buying bunches of cheap ones, a better one
would do the trick.  Lost?  How in the world did you lose it?

Veronica,  Like you I am rough on watches, and have found that the 
best solution is to bite the bullet and buy a Seikko.  I think they 
are between $150 and $180.  I am on my second, and my first lasted 
nearly 20 years, and was lost, not broken.
