[blparent] private schooling

Probably the best way is to talk to the school you are interested in and see
what scholarships they offer. I don't know of any organizations on a
national level that offer scholarships to private elementary and secondary
schools. There may be funding in some states, so you may want to do a
little research with your state's department of education to see if anything
is available. The other thing you may want to look into are charter
schools. They are becoming more popular. Usually they are public schools,
but they have smaller class sizes in many cases and are structured around a
large theme--such as math or science. They are often harder to get into, at
least here in Maryland, because admission is based on a lottery system and
there are long waiting lists. But this too could vary state to state, so it
might be worth exploring. Good luck! My oldest will be starting
kindergarten in 2012, and we are all ready looking at school options
because, unfortunately, the schools in Baltimore are not very good.

        Does anyone know how I can obtain a scholarship, for my son, to a
private school?
