[blparent] Glad to join

Yes, you can get it from Baby's R Us and it's made by Summer Infant. It
feels just like a regular sheet on the top and it's a water proof plastic
underneath. You put the sheet in the crib just like you would for a regular
sheet but instead of snapping the elastic ends around the mattress, you
merely take sown-in stretchy tabs and wrap them around the bars and snap
them into the sheet. It's so easy and convenient. I was killing myself to
have to remove the bumpers each time and now I don't have to worry one bit
about that any more unless they get dirty. The snap tabs are around the
whole sheet so there are several places to connect the sheet to the crib for
a secure fit. The sheet itself is white so it will go with any crib set.

Hope this helps.

Erin

Congrats Angie. You'll enjoy being a mother more than anything in the
world. Sometimes out of nowhere I'll just break-down and cry quietly out of
joy that my little guy brings me and because I feel so blessed. It's a hard
emotion to explain, but you'll know what I mean when your baby's born and
your heart over-flows with love for the little gift sleeping in your arms.

Do you have any names picked out yet? I remember how fun researching baby
names was. Meanings have a lot of importance to me so when I came across
the name Dawson which is old English meaning "son of David" I just knew that
was the perfect name for our little one.

What theme are you doing for the nursery? I did a Noah's Ark theme which is
a lot of fun. With all the animals around our pumpkin, we'll be shocked if
he doesn't grow up to be a veterinarian or animal biologist or something of
that sort. SMILING

I did a ton of research on many many baby products so please let me know if
you have any questions about anything you're thinking about purchasing since
it's a little overwhelming with how many things are offered out there. Some
of the items I just couldn't live without include: my Breast Friend nursing
pillow which snaps and-or Velcro's onto your waist for ease of nursing, the
ultimate Crib Sheet by Summer Infant which is a waterproof crib sheet that
snaps onto the rails of the crib and saves you from always taking the
bumpers off each time the sheet needs to be changed, my nursing wrap that
goes around my neck and has a wire loop in the front to allow for air flow
and allows baby to look at your face when nursing. I am forgetting the
company that makes that wrap but you can get it at Baby's R Us and it's a
must if your nursing since it will allow you to be much more confident in
public when nursing because baby can't just tare the cover off of you
exposing you to the world since it's around your neck. I don't know what
type of car seat you have but get whatever travel system you love the most
and I recommend Britax for when your baby grows out of his infant car seat
since it exceeds safety ratings and is extremely good quality in addition to
allowing your son to be in a 5 point harness into the higher pounds. We
have a Britax that will allow him to be rear facing until 40 pounds and
forward facing until 70 pounds which I love. Oh also, the waterproof
disposable pads you can get from Baby's R Us are a must for the changing
table as well so you're not doing loads and loads of laundry every day every
time your little fire fighter tries to put out a fire with his high pressure
hose which they're great at doing! GRIN Okay, these are just a few of my
faves and I could go on all night about the things I love and wouldn't want
to do without.

Take care,

Erin

Hello Erin,

I'm relatively new to this list myself. My boyfriend Chuck and I are
expecting our first child, a boy, in July. I've already learned a lot by
corresponding with people on this list. I'm an attorney, and Chuck and I
live in Virginia.

Best,

Angie
