[blparent] school

6th grade is middle school here. New school, new teachers, new friends and
a new routine. Middle school starts at 8:00 and lets out at 3:00 where
elementary started at 9:00 and let out at 4:00.
We have Gab signed up for a few things this summer, an Extreme camp with the
Y. they are suppose to go to 2 fieldtrips a day and it cost $45 for one
week. We signed her up for Camp Invention in July which is a camp for
students who will explore the creating of electronics and other working
items. A couple of years ago, they created a robot out of garbage and other
reused parts.
The third we signed up for is Vacation bible School. Other than that, she
wants to go to a girl scout camp, but that one is quite expensive. We need
to sit down and talk about that one and see if she can still get in.

So where you live is 6th grade the start of middle school or is it still
elementry? My son will be in 6th grade next year and they've changed it now

so 6th grade is the start of middle school. My kids get ous the 27th of
May, kids, I guess right now I only have one in school. Trying to figure
out what to do all summer with him. He has some boy scout stuff going on
and would like to go to camp, so much of that stuff is always so expensive
though!

When do your muchkins get out for the summer. Gab's last day is next
Tuesday. The 5th grade talent show is Friday and Gab and 3 of her friends
are doing some kind of a skit. They won't let me know what it is, she
claims it is a surprise. I tried to listen in this evening while they were
practicing, but she saw me and retreated to her room. Guess I will have to
wait till Friday like everyone else.
Also Monday the 5th graders get to go on a fieldtrip. First they go
swimming at the Aquatic center up here, then they break for lunch and then
on to the bowling alley for a quick game.
Then at 2:00 they return to the school where they have a celebration of
school days past and some out door games designed only for them.
Then Tuesday they return to say good-bye and get year books signed.
I can't believe she will be in 6th grade next year.
Wah, they sure do grow up fast. I was just saying that I went to my first
meeting for blind parents just "yesterday."
