I would agree with you here.  It's the white cane that's universal.  If you 
want to allow different colored canes, the next thing will be different 
shapes.  (Oh, wait!  They've had those in the past.)

But does it count legally as a cane? As in if you're crossing a street and a

driver doesn't stop, can they say "I idn't know that was a cane"?
My cane isn't apart of me. It's just something I use. I have more 
sentimental attachment to my space shuttle jacket. That thing is beautiful 
and has lots of good memories. Plus cool stuff happens when I wear it.

I know that the gentleman that had the black one was a judge in our city.
The girl who had the pink cane used it everywhere she needed to be dressed
up (church, interviews, etc.).  They are mainly to be functional and not so
obvious during these special times.  Think of it this way we have to dress
up for these occasions so why not dress up your cane too because it is apart
of you.  You would only need to by one cane that was the color that suited
you the best or your favorite color.
