My one suggestion would be ice packs.  They can help lower the pressure by 
cooling the eye.
Lots of pain relief meds.
I guess since the first is thursday you could wait to call back that day, 
but be the squeaky wheel.  If they had to live with that they'd want help 
quickly also.
Oh, and bang your head on the wall or floor a few times and jamb your finger 
in the eye to offset the pressure.  LOL!  I'm afraid neither will make you 
feel better but it's probably what you feel like doing.
Try not to bend over too much either because that puts pressure on the 
eye--I know that's hard with a little one.
That's all the two cents worth I have to offer.  I hope the cumbersome 
machine moves quickly on this one and you get help soon.

The inflimus dog. LOL. We have had a dog for the past 5 years. She's good
for the most part but, with her and a toddler, it gets a bit crazy around
here sometimes. Cute but, hard on the head. My hubby has been great through
all this, He just didn't realize how bad it was until I went to the eye doc
and they laid it all out for me. I have a lot of minor health issues and
get sick a lot so some times people think I'm just milking it however I am
an adult and have grown past that kind of foolishness. Nevertheless people
talk sometimes. Our pastor is working with him to loosen up his schedule so
he not only can be home more but, also so that if he has to make a last
minute call to stay home he can. I have what I call liveable days and
hellish days. I called the doc today and they couldn't give me any idea of
when, she didn't even know if they had called halifax yet to schedule a
date. They left a not for him about what to do in the meantime and they
told me to call back if I didn't hear anything by the first of DEC. All 3
doctors told me it was a real concern that the eye come out asap but, I
wish they wouldn't have freaked me out like that then left me hanging not
even with an idea of what to do for the pain. So the waiting game
continues.
