[blparent] Tips for Getting Toddler to Use Nasal Spray

Hello,

My son got a stuffy nose from a cold that wouldn't go away and led into an
ear infection. I tried simple saline and it wasn't working for him at all.
A facilitator at one of my son's play groups turned me onto a natural saline
solution that has a few other natural things in it to help with congestion.
It is call Simalison and after only two uses he was completely clear. I was
amazed and am telling everyone about it who has a sick little one because it
was a miracle medicine. I got it from Sun Flowers which is a natural food
store but I'm sure you could find it at a natural food store near you if you
don't have Sun Flowers. My son is only eleven and a half months so I can't
help you much with getting your 3 year old to sniff the meds in but I hope
the best for you with that. Maybe just continue to practice breathing
deeply in through the nose before trying to put the solution in and that
might help her get the idea.

Blessings,

Erin

You could try Pipi's idea or just have her lie down. If she doesn't know
how to sniff, try teaching her by covering her mouth with your hand--or with
her hand--to show her how she takes in air with her nose when she can't
breathe through her mouth. I don't have any experience with this either as
my kids would never tolerate that sort of thing.
I'd think even laying her on your lap with her head off of you so it's in a
backward position--hoping that made sense--would help it run down the back
of her throat.

I've never had any experience with doing this, but would having her hang
upside down while spraying accomplish anything?
