since you work with a loom, maybe you could answer a few questions I have. 
I bought a round loom thinking that it might be fun to start loom knitting a

hat or something.  I got some instructions online and tried doing what they 
said to do, but I couldn't seem to understand how you knit on a loom.  Can 
you explain how to use one?  What can you knit on one?  Are their different 
types, and what's that hook thing for?

I wanted to respond to the knitting question.
Yes, the NFB does have a crafters group and they talk about knitting lots.
I am trying to knit a scarf and had to put it on hold.
the concept is easiest if you have a loom, but i don't know if you can
do a blanket with one.
i have had to put it on hold, but will get back to it soon.
