It's not just mental illness, unfortunately. A young man in our congregation
was excluded from doing thet hings his peers did, even though the leaders
were saying, "we'll talk about it" to his mother, who worked in special ed.
She finally asked them, "How hard is it to let him feel included, even if
he's not perfect at what he can do? Why not let him try?" They never gave
her a straight answer.
