[blparent] talking thermometers?

I have never heard of anybody doing a rectal temp these days.
Maybe it was done a long time ago when houses weren't as well heated and thermometers weren't as accurate?

Hi,

I never did rectal temps either for that very reason. Lucky for us Ashlyn
loves having her temperature taken. Everytime one of us has to take ours,
and that's lots lately with Paul being ill again, she squeels until we take
hers too.

I read about taking the rectal temperature in the parenting course, but I
never resorted to it because when you have a sick, cranky baby anyway, and
then you think about doing something like taking the diaper off, holding the
poor baby down, and sticking a thermometer where you wouldn't want it to go
yourself--I just never attempted it. That infrared thermometer sounds
awesome.
