Also, feel free to call your local bus company and ask them personally what
their policies are.  Additionally, if you are flying call the airline to
make sure you are current on what they're policies are.  For example,
parents are not allowed to keep a baby in a carrier during takeoff and
landing when flying because during extensive tests they've discovered that
the baby is safer just on the caretakers lap rather than strapped into a
carrier.
