[blparent] giving meds with syringes?

When I first heard this I felt really silly for never having thought of it
before, but it was baby number 2. For baby 1 my husband would pre-load
several syringes for me and that worked really well. The better way is to
take a knife and mark the plunger at the spot to stop. You will want to play
with this a little because if you do not have the syringe placed in the
liquid completely you can fill it partially with air. This usually happens
as you get to the bottom of the medicine bottle.

If you need one filled and do not have it marked, you can also measure in a
regular measuring spoon and then either poor it or suck it into the syringe.
The syringes are also great for measuring small liquids in cooking like
vanilla and other extracts.

Your pharmacy will sell them to you for use in over the counter meds or
other purposes. They usually want anywhere from $.50 to $1 each.

Hi list,

So, I was wondering how have y'all handled it when your baby needed medicine
through a syringe? Was there some way you marked how far to push the
plunger to get the right amount? Whenever Cheyenne has needed meds through a
syringe I have always been able to ask someone sighted for assistance.

Sabrina
