[blparent] Sensitive breast feeding concern, ladies only

With learning how to center your nipple properly when pumping, I had a
lactation nurse show me how to feel for my nipple after putting the flange
or suction cup thing on and then attach the pump itself. This helped a ton
with proper centering of my nipple and even though I had a hard time with
pumping I at least got a much more comfortable position.

Lisamaria,

I also had trouble centering my nipples when pumping. This seems like it
should be easy, but it wasn't for me. Eventually, I developed a technique,
which is kind of hard to describe. I used that with a hands-free pumping bra
and was able to do OK. But there was definitely a frustrating period when I
wasn't getting it centered.

I agree with Erin about the breastfeeding class at the hospital. Ours (Chuck
went with me) was a very positive experience.
