You guys gave me a good laugh after a rough day of messes! I've joked about
barrowing the neighbors vacuums that run on 4 legs and a tongue for a long
time. I ended up buying the one I mentioned in a earlier post because it
just had great reviews for hard floor use. I did look in to the shop vac
thing, but by the time you buy the shop vac and then the kit for floors in
ones house you will spend over$100, and I got this on sale for $69. The only
bad reviews I found were from people who didn't read the description, or
tried to use it for carpets which it wasn't intended for.  

I have a rubber mat with large grooves outside the door, and a rug on the
inside. That does help a lot, but 3 kids all day and the travelers in and
out make a lot of extra dust. Add to this that the heat comes from the
floor, and the dropped crackers, and that yucky dust multiplies
exponentially. I'll let you guys know how this works, and look forward to
other ideas and products.

The little fat dog vacuum is really good, especially for those who have
mobility problems, just turn it on and it goes and goes and goes.

This is a great thread, because I am in the market for a good steam
cleaner/other cleaning devices. I have a yorica vacume that does great but
my town house is all tile therfore I have the same issue brandy does which
is attracting dust and other junk from outside when people come in the door.
I can't stand to feel this stuff on the bottom of my feet therfore I am now
ready to purchase a whole army of devices in order to keep my floors clean.
My couches too are a magnet for some reason for dust and other stuff because
they are a swade type valvit material and it drives me nuts to feel them
that way as well. so please keep on the suggestions.

and Decker makes a wet/dry vac that is cordless that hangs on the wall.  My
