[blparent] Baby names

Hi,

I hate my name no matter how you spell it. grin I always got asked if it
was short for Tamara or Tammara, and there was a particular teacher who
called me Tamara just to bug me I think. She did eventually appologize when
my mother finally went to her and told her that it bothered me, and that it
wasn't my name so she should start calling me by my actual name which wasn't
Tamara. Wen I was adopted at the age of almost 2 my brothers said that they
wouldn't let me stay with them unless my parents agreed to name me Tammy.
Nothing else, no short form of anything and to this day we have no idea
where they got the name from but they insisted, so I became Tammy. this was
fine with me because my birth mother gave me the name Trudie Ann Marie!
Yuck!

Tammy

My mom's name is Tami except spelled T A M I.

We like unusual names too. I love getting names from literature. I like
Bront for a boy (pronounced Bron Tey) which is taken from the Bronte
sisters. We always said if we had twins who were a boy and girl, we
would name them Eowyn and Eomer (pronounced Ay O Win and A Mer) which
are a brother and sister in The Lord of he Rings series. After reading
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, I also liked the name of Rebecca's mother's
name, which is Oreilla, pronounced O Rel Ya. Byron is the last name of
the poet, and I like Tempest like Shakespeare's The Tempest. Most
recently I like the name Primrose from The Hunger Games.

I also like names taken from musical terms like Dulcy, Cadence, Aria,
Harmony, Piper and Lyric.

Going back to literature, I love, love Story and Sonnet. In fact, Sonnet
is one of our top girls names should we ever have a girl.

Other uncommon names we really like:
Avalon
Harlow
Rohan
Eden
Apple
Grier , pronounced Greer (like 30's film star Grier Garson)
Finn
Lucinda
Artemis
Prudence
Blythe
Vesper

Hi,

I tend to like uncommon names, I already have Remus, Colyn and Ashlyn,
so
here are a few more we were thinking about

Xavior, Phoenix, Serius, Allicia, Kyah, Zack, Nicholas, Michaella, and
Paul
said he wanted Romulus but I am 99 percent sure he was just joking about

that since we had Remus already.

Tammy
