[blparent] Baby names

I too think the Duggers must have their hands full or be totally organized,
which I am not!! I think the older kids do help out a lot with siblings ...
I guess I feel bad for the family because how does a mom or dad spend one on
one time with every child, and at times that's what children need. But, oh
20 kids, I get mixed up with my three, although I love them all and would
love to have 20 ... my budget and sanity would never survive!

Yes, I have an imaginary huge family where I have fun naming my 14+ kids but
in reality I'd probably too busy with just getting them diapered and fed to
even remember their names. GRIN I admire how with it the Duggers are on
television but honestly I don't know how they do it and they're about to
have number 20 if she hasn't popped by now.

Some other names I like are:
Boys
Landon
Winston
Clarence
Carson
Sirus
Cameron, although I hate the meaning which is "crooked nose"
Arthur
Theodore
Benjamin
Malachi
Michia
Andre
Warren

Girls
Wendy
Amy
Shelby
Alison
Adriana
Dorothy
Florence
Leah
Mandy
Pearl

Very, very pretty name. When I got pregnant with my daughter at 19, oh the
names I came up with, you would have thought I had grown up in the 60's,
lol!! My boyfriend though had other ideas, he wanted more traditional ...
so he picked the boy's name wich was Joshua Derek and I got to do the girls
and her name is Tirsa *pronounced tear, like cry a tear and then the sa on
the end*. Her middle name is Lynn, if I had to do it all over again I would
pick a more unique middle name but Tirsa Lynn it is!! With my son's ... my
middle son, his dad and I couldn't agree on a name, this is why we aren't
together anymore, lol ... and he had a crush on my friend Jen ... so his
name was picked by Jen, myself, and another friend, 12 hours after he was
born, and it is Dustin Michael. I liked it, he agreed *because of Jen I
suspect, lol* and a Dustin is what we have. Not too common of a name but
yet not as original as I'd like.

With my last, my husband got it in his head that if it was a boy it would be
Dylan James and Dylan James we have. It was his first ... and only ...
child ... And Dylan like Dustin isn't really common but I would go more for
unique.

Now that I've bored you with my Tirsa, Dustin, and Dylan stories:

Kaia Nichole
Breanna Chantel
Tianna Rose
Cody
Tori
Savannah *which my sister used*
Dekota
Tristin

All names I love and will never get to use!!

Thanks for asking--I love talking about Oriana's name. It actually means
"dawning or rising" and she was born in the morning, right about the time of
sunrise, which was a really cool extra special bonus. My husband originally
heard the name in high school and always thought it was beautiful. So, when
we started dating, and then started getting more serious, we were talking
about children and he said he always wanted a daughter named Oriana. I told
him I loved the name, especially since it's not very common, so that's what
we named our first daughter.
It's funny because I always swore that I'd only call her by her full name,
or by Ana. I thought Ori just didn't have a nice ring to it... Well, then
she went to day care one day a week, and I'm not sure how it got started,
but Austin came home calling her "Ori Borey Guacaholy." The nickname stuck,
but it's rather long, so now we call her Ori most of the time.
We really want Elizabeth if we have a girl this time, so I'm going to have
to worn the day care ahead of time... I do NOT want a Liz or a Lizzie... I
just don't like those names. I want either an Elizabeth or a Beth... We'll
see if that lasts!

Melissa,
I must tell you I love the name Oriana. It has such a nice ring. Do you call
her by her full name or does she have a nickname? Does her name have a
specific meaning?

We have decided on Ethan for a boy or Elizabeth for a girl. Our other two
children are Austin and Oriana, which, of course, are favorite names of
ours. It's nice that the two of you like so many of the same names. We
have had quite the hard time agreeing--except for Oriana, who we had named
even before we were married. Smile.

Hi, Bernadetta. I'm so glad you have a healthy baby boy. You're right, in
the end, a healthy baby is all that matters. My labor and delivery didn't
go as planned, either, but I have a little girl who turned four last month,
and she's the best surprise that ever happened to me. I live in Colorado
and work from home as a braille proofreader.

By the way, I really like your name. "Bernadette" means "brave as a bear"
In french, so I guess Bernadetta is a derivitave. I considered giving my
daughter the name Bernadette just because I liked the meaning so much.

Jo Elizabeth
