Aren't club crackers like Ritz, full of fat and high in calories?

Goldfish crackers are one of the worse kid snack crackers because they
contain high amounts of trans-fat, sodium and carbs than a lot of snack
crackers. We use to give Penny goldfish crackers until I realized how much
of a difference there is between them and other snack crackers.
Keebler Club crackers are a much better choice, and so are oyster crackers,
which Pen loves. She thinks they are goldfish and will gobble them up.
Most snack crackers contain high amounts of trans-fats, which are the "bad"
fats, and food high in trans-fat also contain the bad kind of cholesterol.
Be careful of snack crackers of any kind, and be aware of serving sizes
because it all comes down to portion control.
Sincerely,
Bridgit Kuenning-Pollpeter

Hello list,
Check out this site, http://www.feedingthekids.com/brands.html#78438
This has fabulous healthy food and snack ideas for your kids. They list
everything really nicely and categorize the different kinds of food so you
can go right to what you're interested in. I've pasted a list of healthy
crackers below as an example.
Whole-grain Crackers and Graham Crackers
* Triscuit Reduced Fat
* Ak-Mak 100% Whole Wheat Stone Ground Sesame Cracker
* Health Valley Original Graham Crackers, any flavor (an
In-Between)
* Lundberg Farm Brown Rice Cakes
* Real Foods Corn Thins Flax & Soy (These taste great. Kids like
them
because they taste a lot like popcorn.)
* Annie's Whole Wheat Bunnies (In-Between)
* Pepperidge Farm's Whole Grain Goldfish (Though technically an
Empty
grain, these get extra fat because of their cheese content. So, I count them
as an In-Between. Bonus: They taste exactly like regular Gold Fish.)
* Barbara's Bakery Wheatines Saltine-Style Crackers, Original or
Cracked Pepper (But only get the cracked pepper if you really like cracked
pepper!)
* TLC Stoneground 7 Grain Crackers
* GeniSoy Soy Crisps (In-Between) (These are a nice source of
protein,
too.)
* Smart Balance Light Butter Flavor Deluxe Microwave Popcorn
*
