My daughter is gabriella and I am forever correcting peeps, they either call
her gabbie or Gabrielle or Gabriel.  All drive me crazy. I keep saying
Gabriella or Bella which is approved by her.

Melissa, I too, love the name Oriana. I thought of naming my daughter
Ariana, but was afraid that I would forever be correcting everyone:

Our married last name (although I have not changed it in email) is Ahmed.
People call DH Ahmed or Amod or something similar and don't even use his
first name.
In some cultures it is common for the wife and children to use the man's
first name as their last.
My husband's name is Imran.
(My mother use to call him Iran -- and pronounce it like it rhymes with my
name "jan"). I didn't want to be "Jan Im ran."
So, I am Jan ahmed.

I love names. I could look up and pour over names for hours.

Dominika was named by   his mother.I didn't have a baby book then.
And.... ... my family has a habit of changing or shortening names they don't
like. I liked "Antoinette" or "Antonia," but they would shorten it to Toni.
"Alexandria," would be shortened to Alex. Myranda would be shortened to
Randi and so on. " Ashari would be sherry.  My first son was named after his
father, Demieli, pronounced "Demeal." I don't know what his mother was
thinking by putting that "i" on the end and honestly, she doesn't remember
either. But, to have a Junior, you have to keep the spelling.
LaTroi  Antonio is my third son and Kyler Jovon is my fourth.
With this baby, I poured over baby books and naming websites. My dh is
Pakistani and I promised that the baby would have a Pakistani first name. He
has a common (or not so common, but my choice) kind of american name. DH
doesn't like the "middle name" concept, but he has to deal with that one.
For boys, I liked the names:
Justus, Sabion, DaReece, Zandor, Ajalon, Zion, Asher, Julien, Aithan,
Jaqeem, Simeon,  Aivrien, ... ... Zariyan, Zayaan/Zayonne, Arsalan,
Ahsaan/Ehsonne,  maybe Yaqub and Yusef. The last names can be Pakistani
names, as well, but not the first set of names. Keyaan and Taban were
reportedly "muslim" names, but DH had not heard of them
before.   His name is Azaan (pronounced Azon) Gabriel. I love the name
more and more every day. My family gave me flack for naming him a Pakistani
name, but I would threaten to name him Osama, just for spite. Now, I would
never do this, but, come on, Azaan is not bad at all and can be pronounced
easily.  Actually, Azaan was probably one of the only names that we, DH and
I,  both liked.  I tease DH and tell him that the next baby will be named
Sanjay -- a Hindi / Indian name.
I actually like Sanjay, (As well as Veejay and Aneel)  but DH would never
name his child something that would make people suspect that he might be
Hindu.  If I have another boy, my top  names are: Justus, Julion, Simeon and
Taj.
For a girl, DH liked Kiran... ... pronounced Keeryn.  If the baby was a
girl, I would have relented and named her Kiran because it is / was DH's
first. Actually, I toyed with Kiran Jannae. I like Samiya, Nyasha, Atiya,
Soraya, Yasmin, Sabriya, Najia [accent on the first
syllable: Nawjia), Shohana, Zartasha, Rani(pronounced as Jaws
pronounces it),  Nyaera and Zaara.      (Jayanni, anjali, Shanti,
Jaydria/Jaydra, Ashtee, Aneela   and Brishti are automatically out
because, they too are Hindu names, but I like them).  I liked India
-- or spelled Yndia with a Y (But, Pakistan has a love/hate relationship
with India and it just would not go over well--- smile),
and  Pandora (but not since the app).    I liked Khari, Aubrielle,
Dhanya, Eedyn, Jaicelia, Brishelle, Lucia, Jaqara,  Zola, Ashiyana, but
those are  not Pakistani, either. Ones that almost made the list
were:  Aja, Serena, Krysha, Brié,  Kamiel, Aleena, Abriana, Kalindi, Breena,
chella, Daria and Tamandra.
I like Jyenne(rhyming with Cheyenne), Brielle(The last part of Gabriele's
name), Annique and KryShawn for middle names. My mother has fourteen
grandchildren:
Joshua, Dominika, Demieli, Latroi, Kyler, Dakota, Darian, Lincoln, Sofia,
Liam, Langston, Donnavan, Trystian (pronounced Trystin) and Azaan.
She has a great grandchild (not from any of my children) named Lily.
If I were going to go with a musical theme, I might do a Dantino, Rondeau,
Kryshenda or Allegra (although that is a medicine, now). .
 There was a nichelodian show called Allegra's window and I really liked it.

there are lots of websites and you can't always believe what you hear/ read.

has some names, but not sure if they are correct on origin or meaning.
