Hi, when Mark was young we lived about a block from the school and he knew that I had a lot of time to show up at the school if needed. I firmly believe in surprises. If I want to know what is going on having the child not knowing when you are coming might be a good idea. Kids will push limits. Mark knew even in middle and high school that we could and would be there at the drop of a hat if necessary. He tried it once we found him and he lost that round. I realize that your son is only six but you can't afford to looose the batttles when it comes to behaviors that you don't like.
