I had my boy's first, but I picked them up as quickly as I do my baby girl. I don't don't know why boy baby's should get any less than baby's girl's do. After all, a baby, is a baby, no mater the sex. My Dad thinks boy baby's shouldn't be handled as much as girl's. I didn't listen to him.

> Hi v. We have a son and I have read that even very young babies are treated differently dependent upon the sex of the child. People think boys don't need picked up as quickly as girls. They tend to be expected not to cry. There seems to be an expectation that they need to become strong and somehow to be vulnerable is wrong. We didn't want Mark to be picked on and we wanted him to learn to stand up for himself but we also wanted him to feel safe expecially at home. School wasn't easy for him and we had to look for the answers that was right for him and not just assume the answer was only punishment because it wasn't. We found that as good as most teacher were, we had to trust our insticts as parents and trust Mark to learn safety in telling the truth to us. Sorry for the length of this.
