Actually it's super easy to put on and take off and not bulky at all.  It
just has one strap that goes around his waist with Velcro and a strap over
each shoulder.  The Velcro is on his back so he can't get to it.  I love
this harness for play groups because the kids are attracted to the stuffed
animals on the harnesses and pull on them to play which can knock my son
over.  This way there isn't anything to attract the eye and other kids have
left my son's plane harness alone for the most part, just swatting the bell
from time to time which makes all of us moms laugh.

Erin,

The plain harness doesn't look strange all strapped around your son? I
haven't seen a plain one and I imagine all of these straps around his waist,
chest and around his shoulders. I'm curious to know how bulky it is to wear
over his clothes and how odd it might look if it doesn't have those little
animals on the back or a regular looking back pack.
