You can also use the water bottles with pop up top.

Hello Pipi and list,

They do make some Sippy cups that are really just a strong straw and small
cup that you can use with your daughter. If you have any trouble finding
that in the store, then the next time you're out at a restaurant ask for a
kid's cup with a straw and a lot of times they'll give you a more durable
cup than your typical cheap flimsy plastic cups with a straw. Those cups
are disposable but can be used again and again for some time. This is what
my husband and I often times use when we're out, especially since it's no
loss if our son chucks the cup some ware without us knowing and we can't
find it or if we accidently leave it. I also use two other types of Sippy
cups that might still be too Sippy cup like for your daughter but are a
great option for those looking for a good Sippy. Munchkin makes a great
Sippy with a rubber straw that acts like a real water bottle with straw.
The only difference is the baby does have to suck a little harder than you
would have to for a regular straw because there is an anti-spill feature. I
love these because unlike a lot of Sippy cups our son doesn't have to bight
on a nipple mechanism and suck weird in order to get water out of the
bottle. I can't say enough about the rubber straw because tots can't
destroy the straw if they're in a major chewing-teething phase. The second
type of Sippy I've just recently started using is a reusable disposable type
Sippy you get at Target and it's their brand-name Sippy I believe. It's a
regular durable plastic cup with a lid that snaps tight and has a hard
plastic spout that the child just puts to their lips and sucks. These are
pretty cool because again they don't have to bight on anything weird and
they are super easy to clean because there are no valves or little pieces to
deal with. Both Sippy cups I've mentioned are dish-washer safe. The
Munchkin cups can be found for sure at Baby's R Us and come in a variety of
translucent solid colors and the Target brand reusable disposable Sippy cups
are a solid foggy clear color. Additionally, I have seen some stainless
steel options for Sippy and kids cups on-line but I've never trialed any of
these myself so I don't know how well they work.

Hope this all helps.

Erin

Subject: [blparent] where to go after sippy cup?

Hey y'all,
I need some help.
First at what age did your kids stop using a sippy cup?
Second, what do you use after the sippy at places like in the car, at the
doctor's office, church, basically anywhere out of the house where there
isn't really a table for eating and drinking?
I have taken Savannah's sippy cups away because i feel that she is too old
for them. She uses a normal cup without a lid at home. My problem is that
this cup with no lid doesn't work for when we are out somewhere.
I'm now using sippy cup with straws for when we are out, but it's still a
baby cup as savannah calls it.
Do they make cups that are about 8 ounces that are either sports bottle
types or something?

Pipi
