Hi Jennifer,
I wonder if you're referring to the "Brailleables" book? I think I found it
either on Web-Braille from NLS or bookshare. I don't remember which one.
I don't have a Brailler any longer as I don't really use one much anymore,
but I do have a slate. Yes, it would take me some time and may seem a bit
tedious, but it'd work for sure. :)

I am sorry that I do not have a source for this, but several years ago one
of the Braille stores had a book of directions for using the Braille writer
to make a variety of designs. Some of it seemed pretty obvious, but why
reinvent the wheel every time. :) I know there where Christmas trees and
presents with bows in the designs, but I do not remember any other
specifics.

I remember thinking that this might be a fun way to participate with my kids
in making cards for thank you notes, and for making my own coloring pages.

If anyone has a source for something like that, will you please share it
with the list. I lost the info in a computer crash and had forgotten about
it until I read Joe Elizabeth's post.

There are a couple of tactile coloring books on the NFB Web site.  I bought
two of them but haven't tried them with Sarah yet because they're kind of
expensive, and I don't want her to scribble all over them before she has
some idea of what she's doing.  I don't know if it would work or not, but
when I used to sew, I would trace simple patterns on heavy paper with a
sewing wheel, and I could then feel where to cut, or color, that would work
as well.  Also, if you have a Perkins brailler, you can make your own
tactile shapes and patterns to color, using especially the letter c and the
letter l.  Straightforward squares and rectangles are the best to start
with.
