Also, ask him to tell you about the games, even if you aren't playing.  Let 
him describe what's happening to his character, what he's doing.  My stepson 
isn't always much of a talker, but blow-by-blows of the Star Wars games have 
given him endless, and sometimes too endless, fuel for conversation.  Just 
be interested.  And if you drive a race car into a house at full speed and 
everything blows up, which I've done, have a good laugh about it.  Shoot, 
you'll have done something you could never get away with in real life.
