Honestly, I'd just give it to her and tell her to figure it out.
How she accomplishes this is up to her.

Hi.  Sarah received a Leap Pad Reading System--I think that's what it's called--as a gift.  It has the pad thing, a couple of books and cartridges, and two pencil-looking doohickeys.  I don't have a clue what they all are, or what to do with any of the stuff.  How do I go about figuring out what all this is, and how to use it, so I can teach Sarah?  I'm kind of technologically challenged.
